Yet both teams have to guard against a letdown. As ludicrous as that might sound, Auburn and Missouri are coming off emotionally charged victories last week that gave each coach a reason to fret just a bit.

(AP) - Avery Reid rushed for three touchdowns and Oneonta High School beat Charles Henderson High School 28-10 yesterday in the Class 4A state championship game at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Reid scored on runs of 5, 2 and 4 yards to give the Redskins their fourth state title and first since 2004.
AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Auburn has given football coach Gus Malzahn a new six-year contract worth $3.85 million annually. Athletic director Jay Jacobs announced the first-year coach's new deal yesterday, the eve of the third-ranked Tigers' game against No. 5 Missouri for the Southeastern Conference championship.
