    A weekend camping trip ended tragically for a Winston County family. The sheriff says 7 year-old Joseph Alexander was wading in the shallow waters of Smith Lake, in an area known as"Cable Crossing" when he stepped off into deeper water and drowned. The boy's stepfather pulled him from the water. The child was pronounced dead at Walker Regional Hospital. The family is from Arley and that Joseph had just finished first grade at Curry Elementary School.
