MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Gov. Bentley's tax return shows he's still not receiving any income from being governor. But he and his wife reported an adjusted gross income of nearly $373,000 for 2013. About $233,000 of that came from Bentley selling his interest in the building where his medical practice was located in Tuscaloosa.
CAMDEN, Ala. (AP) - An ex-sheriff's deputy in Camden has pleaded guilty in a drug trafficking sting. Federal prosecutors have said Greg Barge was wearing his uniform and was in his patrol car when he tried transporting what he thought was cocaine from Montgomery to Camden in June of 2013. He could be sentenced between 72 and 90 months.
DAYTON, Ohio (AP) - Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx says congressional indecision about how to pay for programs is again threatening road and transit projects. Foxx will make stops in eight states, including Alabama, this week to whip up public support to keep federal transportation aid flowing to states.
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - State AG Luther Strange and Jefferson County Sheriff Mike Hale are praising a judge's ruling in a 2011 raid on an electronic bingo hall. The judge has ordered more than 500 gambling machines seized destroyed and $69,240 in cash from the Anchor Club forfeited.
