ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - It would seem Georgia's depth at tailback took a hit when freshman Nick Chubb had surgery on Monday to repair his fractured left thumb. Coach Mark Richt, however, isn't crossing Chubb off his list of running backs for Georgia's game against Troy on Saturday.

ATLANTA (AP) - Tanner Roark pitched five-hit ball over seven innings, Ian Desmond's two-run homer broke a scoreless tie, and the Washington Nationals celebrated another trip to the playoffs with a 3-0 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday night. Atlanta lost for the 11th time in 14 games.

ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta mayor Kasim Reed says he has talked with six potential buyers of the Atlanta Hawks after a racially charged email prompted owner Bruce Levenson to announce he's selling the team. Reed said Tuesday that Levenson and his partner Ed Peskowitz have both agreed to sell their shares of the team, which total 50.1 percent.

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) - It looked like 2013 again for the Atlanta Falcons' offense last week, but Matt Ryan is blaming himself for the unit's poor performance. The two-time Pro Bowl quarterback says Atlanta has abundant mistakes to correct before Tampa Bay visits the Georgia Dome on Thursday.
