OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (AP) - Zack Sucher won the Midwest Classic on Sunday for his first Web.com Tour title, closing with a 1-over 72 in windy conditions for a three-stroke victory. Sucher, the 27-year-old former Alabama-Birmingham player, finished at 19-under 265 at the Nicklaus Golf Club at LionsGate and earned $108,000 to jump from 20th to fourth on the money list with $247,318.

ATLANTA (AP) - Chris Johnson and Ryan Doumit each drove in two runs during Atlanta's six-run third inning and the Braves beat Eric Stults the San Diego Padres 8-3 Sunday. The Braves trailed 1-0 before roughing up Stults.

COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (AP) - Bobby Cox, who guided the Atlanta Braves to an unprecedented 14 straight division titles and 15 playoff appearances, has been inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. A light-hitting infielder who appeared in 220 games for the New York Yankees in 1968-69, Cox found his niche in the dugout.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Ivory Latta scored 21 points and Kara Lawson added 14 as the surging Washington Mystics moved into second place in the Eastern Conference with a 77-67 win over the Atlanta Dream on Sunday. The Mystics have won four straight and six of seven games. Washington trails East-leading Atlanta by three games.
