Wild temperatures swings and rain, maybe even a few thunderstorms, are all in the forecast for the next several days. Occasional showers will occur tonight and tomorrow as a strong cold front approaches, and there might also be a thunderstorm or two. The front separates unseasonably warm air from bitterly cold arctic air, and we will have quite a change in temperatures here Friday. The high temperature will likely be close to 70, but that may well occur early in the day, and by evening, temperatures will range from the 30's across Marion and Winston to the 40's along I-20, and the 50's in Coosa county. By late Friday night and early Saturday it might even be cold enough for a touch of freezing rain in places like Haleyville. Saturday looks wet and cold, then it will briefly warm up on Sunday, but more rain is likely. Much colder air returns again early next week with some rain early in the week.
