Tom Annino

Tom Annino is Alabama's 13's weekend sports anchor and reporter.

He comes to Birmingham from WPSD Local 6 in Paducah, Ky. During his two years in Kentucky, Tom was WPSD's weekend sports anchor and reporter. He was also one of WPSD's beat reporters covering the Murray State men's basketball team. Tom covered many Murray State home and road games, including the Racers' trip to Louisville in 2012 for the NCAA Tournament. He also covered two NASCAR race weeks at Kentucky Speedway.

Before working in Kentucky, Tom's first job was at KPLC-TV in Lake Charles, La. He was KPLC's sports director for over two years. Some of Tom's major highlights in Lake Charles were traveling to Miami to cover the New Orleans Saints' championship run in Super Bowl XLIV and going to Pennsylvania for the Little League World Series in 2008.

Born in Boston, Tom received his BA in Communications from Framingham State College in Framingham, Mass. He also received a minor in music from FSC. Immediately after graduating, he got his masters degree in broadcast journalism from Emerson College in Boston.

Before getting his first on-air job, Tom spent time working behind the scenes in sports with two television stations in the Boston market, WHDH-TV and NECN.

In his spare time, Tom enjoys playing golf and, you guessed it, watching sports.
