David Reese

David is excited to call the Chattahoochee River Valley home. He joined the First Alert Weather Team in October 2010 and can be seen Monday through Friday on News 3 This Morning and News 3 Midday.

Originally from Sarasota, Fla., he went to Florida State University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Meteorology.

David has always had a passion for weather and his interest really peaked when Hurricane Charley roared ashore in Florida in August 2004. It intensified quickly and took a hard right turn south of Sarasota. Since then, he worked diligently to be a broadcast meteorologist, so he can keep people safe during the most stressful weather situations.

Spending time in the weather center is his love and passion. He was a meteorologist for Florida State's Weather Show for two years and at ABC 7 in Sarasota, Fla., where he interned both in the weather center and out in the field with a photographer.

He will not miss being in the middle of a mass of people attempting to get interviews with politicians. He will, however, miss being along the beach in the winter.

When not forecasting weather, you can find him out at the parks either running, hiking, or biking, and cheering on the Florida State Seminoles and Pittsburgh Steelers.

    Dry Cold Front Tomorrow

The clouds held tough this morning as we saw the stalled frontal boundary nudge just south of here late last night. These clouds kept temperatures from warming too much through the early afternoon, but some late day sunshine will allow us to top out in the mid 80s. The stationary boundary responsible for the clouds this morning will also help spark a few more showers and storms later today. Tuesday afternoon will see another cold front, this time a dry one, roll through the southeast.

Dan Allison, manager and lead kayak instructor at Outside World Outfitters. We're out here to talk about paddling safety. This is a great training ground down here. If you can paddle this water down here, everything else is going to seem easy.Okay, with that vote of confidence, I decided to hop in the kayak.

This shows the flow of winds on a non-rotating planet, which we know earth is not one of those. This is called the Pressure Gradient Force. This shows the flow of winds on a non-rotating planet, which we know earth is not one of those. This is called the Pressure Gradient Force.
Wind. We’ve all experienced it in one way or another. But how does it come about? Why are some days windier than others? Well, in this week’s Weather Wisdom, we’ll answer all that and more!
