If you fly out of the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International airport you'll notice a major addition and new amenities.
The airport held a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday afternoon for its newly completed terminal.
The expansion and changes are part of the airport's $201 million Terminal Modernization project.
Birmingham Airport Authority CEO, Alfonso Denson says the changes will improve security and efficiency.
Several Birmingham Airport Authority personnel, City and County officials helped celebrate the airport's latest addition.
Airport administrators say the new terminal has a centralized security checkpoint that will provide for easier access between concourses and new retail businesses.
A new phase Birmingham Mayor William Bells says will showcase the city to travelers, coming in and out of the airport.
The airport officials say they're about 65% complete of their two-phase project. The new terminal opens for business March 13.
