SEC Power Poll (Week 8)

The SEC looks to be heading towards another epic Alabama vs. Florida championship game, but Georgia will have one last chance this weekend to reclaim the lead in the east.  

#1 Alabama 7-0

AJ McCarron had a career day as he lead the Tide to a dominating win over Tennessee.  

Up next: vs. Mississippi State 

 

#2 Florida 7-0

The Gator became the first team in a century to score over 40 points with under 200 yards of offense as they romped South Carolina.     

Up next: vs. Georgia  

 

#3 LSU 7-1

LSU battled back from a double-digit deficit on the road to beat Texas A&M.

Up next: off week  

 

#4 South Carolina 6-2

The Gamecocks got off to a bad start from snap one and seemed to be nothing more than Gator bait in the Swamp. 

Up next: vs. Tennessee 

 

#5 Georgia 6-1

Nothing came easy for the Bulldogs in the Bluegrass State as they struggled to beat upset-minded Kentucky.     

Up next: vs. Florida 

 

#6 Mississippi State 7-0

The Bulldogs haven’t really played anyone, but that is soon to change.

Up next: @ Alabama  

 

#7 Texas A&M 5-2

Started out strong versus LSU, but turnovers became the difference in the five-point loss.  

Up next: @ Auburn  

 

#8 Ole Miss 4-3

Off week.

Up next: @ Arkansas  

 

#9 Vanderbilt 3-4

The Dores did everything they could to keep Auburn in the game, but at the end of the day a “W” is a “W”    

Up next: vs. UMASS  

 

#10 Tennessee 3-4

The long October continues for Dooley and the Vols.

#11 Arkansas 3-4

Off week.

#12 Missouri 3-4

#13 Kentucky 1-7

The Cats gave Georgia all they wanted, but came up a little short. Once again, basketball season starts on  Nov. 9.

The Tigers had a chance to win the Vanderbilt game, but the offense failed once again to move the ball.
