Water and sewer bills about to rise for some in the Anniston area

Customers of the Anniston Water Works and Sewer Board should expect to see higher bills, starting next month.

According to a news release, the Anniston Water Works and Sewer Board will increase bills by 6% after April 1, 2013.

The increase is part of a five-year rate plan, which began in January 2009.

The increase will provide about a $1.3 million addition to help meet the water board's needs.
