AJ McCarron tells ESPN.com he played the final six games of the 2012 season with injured ribs.
The injury happened after he was sacked at the end of the third quarter of the Mississippi State game on October 27th.
The Tide had a 24-0 lead at that point and Nick Saban decided to not send McCarron back in for the fourth quarter.
"I had three ribs come out of place," McCarron told ESPN.com.
"They kept popping in and out of place. The one at the top and it was just a nagging pain the whole time."
McCarron also played with a knee brace throughout the second half of last season after he got injured in the rainy game at Missouri.
