BIRMINGHAM, AL -
It was a big day for students studying medicine at UAB.
UAB School of Medicine seniors were at the Cahaba Grand Conference Center in Birmingham to find out where they will be conducting their residency training, in an event called Match Day for 2013.
More than 16,000 graduates from U.S. medical schools, along with more than 15,000 graduates from osteopathic or foreign medical schools, are competing for about 24,000 residency positions at hospitals in the United States.
UAB had 169 medical students participating in the match this year.
