On Friday March 15, 2013 Shelby County 911 received a report of a motor vehicle crash with injuries on Alabama Highway 119 (Cahaba Valley Rd) near the intersection of Meadowood Drive.  This intersection is approximately 1 mile south of U.S. Highway 280.  Sheriff's deputies responded along with Hoover Police, Alabama State Troopers and Cahaba Valley Fire and Rescue.

Currently the motor vehicle crash is in the process of being investigated by the Alabama State Troopers with assistance from the Metro-Shelby Traffic Homicide Investigation Task Force.  At this time, Alabama Highway 119 is closed in both directions while they conduct their investigation.  Motorists are urged to find an alternate route to this busy corridor as they travel this portion of northern Shelby County.

Traffic that is traveling north on Alabama Highway 119 will be redirected at Bridge Drive, and traffic traveling south bound on Alabama Highway 119 will be redirected at Oak Grove Baptist Church.

This release will be updated when the roadway opens.
