BIRMINGHAM, AL -

The free shredding event allows the community to dispose of confidential documents safely and learn about scams targeting them.

The shred event is today at 100 Corporate Parkway, Hoover, Alabama, 35242, from 9:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m.

Postal Inspectors will be on site to educate the public and answer questions regarding scams targeting Alabama residents.

"Identity theft is a growing threat for individuals and businesses across the nation," said Karen Carnahan, president and COO of Cintas document management division.
