BIRMINGHAM, AL -
A fun run to help kids attend camp took place in Birmingham, Saturday morning.
The "7th Annual Fitness "N" Motion 5k run/walk and Health Fair" helped contribute to curing diabetes, as well.
The event included nutritional counseling, cholesterol screening, blood pressure screenings, wellness massages, give-a-ways and a kid's fun zone.
All the proceeds contribute to the American Diabetes Association and Camp Shine.
Camp Shine is a children's center for weight management.
The event was sponsored by the Jefferson County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. along with the Faith Church, the American Diabetes Association, and the Juvenile Research Foundation.
