? Google mapsDeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris says two juveniles have been arrested for allegedly setting a fire in an equipment barn in Shiloh Friday.
The barn was on Heaton Road in Shiloh.
The sheriff says the two juveniles were playing in the barn when they caught hay on fire. The sheriff says the fire quickly got out of control and the children fled the scene.
The building was destroyed along with several pieces of farm equipment and 275 rolls of hay. The value of the loss is estimated at $52,000.
DeKalb County Sheriff's office investigators turned the juveniles over to family members after talking with officials. The children will have a hearing next week in juvenile court.
Harris says, "I feel bad for the owners and the families of the juveniles. We don't think this was malicious but there are still consequences. I hope everyone can get this behind them and the kids learn from their mistakes. This is a terrible loss for a farmer at this time of year."
The children's names have not been released because they are juveniles.
