BIRMINGHAM, AL -
Some folks decided to let school leaders in Birmingham know how they felt about the latest school consolidation plan.
Residents held a protest outside Hemphill Elementary School Monday morning.
They are upset that Birmingham Schools leaders decided Hemphill is one of seven schools set to close, as part of a cost-cutting plan.
That consolidation plan involves closing 7 schools, and eliminating 71 jobs, saving the school district 5.8 million dollars.
