TRUSSVILLE, AL -

A new alternative fuel station has opened in the Birmingham area.

The City of Trussville, Trussville Utlities and McCullough Oil COmpany Tuesday marked the official opening of a new CNG fueling station at the Happy Hollow Chevron Station at 5347 Deerfoot Parkway.

The fueling station is being used by city government vehicles, and is also open to the public.

CNG (compressed natural gas) costs $1.55 a gallon right now.

Trussville has 40 city vehicles which use CNG, and will save the city $100,000 or more in fuel costs.
