Alabama power working to restore power to customers

Alabama Power is still working to restore power to customers after Monday's storms left thousands in the dark. At its peak, nearly 225,000 Alabama Power customers were without power.

Wednesday Morning, Alabama Power said they had restored service to 78% of their customers. The company said they are working hard to restore the remaining outages.

Here's a look at when Alabama Power hopes to have service restored:

  • Customers in Jasper, Carbon Hill, Dora, Hayden, Warrior, Trussville and Leeds should have power back by midnight Wednesday
  • 90% of Alabama Power customers is Talladega and Roanoke should have power back by midnight Wednesday.
  • Customers in Anniston, Jacksonville, Heflin, Gadsden, Pell City and Oneonta are expected to have service restored by midnight Thursday.

Wednesday, 1,500 workers from 10 states will arrive to assist Alabama Power with these outages.
