
As of 3pm Wednesday, Alabama Power said power restoration is 86 percent complete after Monday's storm. About 32,000 people remained without power.
The utility says on Wednesday they're working to restore power to customers east of Birmingham, which includes Gadsden, Anniston, Oneonta, Ashville, and Attalla. Crews are also working on restoring power to 5,700 customers in Metro Birmingham, which includes north and east Jefferson County and Odenville in St. Clair County. and another 5,100 west of Birmingham, which includes Jasper and Carbon Hill.
The officials asking customers in affected areas to be patient.
Alabama Power hopes to have power fully restored to Jasper, Carbon Hill, Dora, Hayden, Warrior, Trussville, and Leeds by midnight Wednesday and to 90 percent of customers in Talladega and Roanoke. The utility also hopes to have service restored to Anniston, Jacksonville, Heflin, Gadsden, Pell City, and Oneonta by midnight Thursday.
