Birmingham was one of many American cities taking part in nationwide rallies to protest against federal budget cuts.
Federal employees rallied outside the Birmingham Social Security Center Wednesday, March 20, 2013, to protest the across-the-board budget cuts known as sequestration.
The event is one of about 100 rallies taking place across the country as part of a mass demonstration organized by the American Federation of Government Employees.
