After a quiet Hoover neighborhood was rocked by an apparent murder-suicide Tuesday night, one neighbor says the incident is like a "horror movie."
Blake Dutton lives right across from the home where Kimberly Jamison Ozburn, 39, and Jimmy Lee Frizzell, 55, were found dead. He was shocked by the news. "This is a great neighborhood... It's crazy to see something like this happen," Dutton said. "It's almost like a horror movie."
Hoover police arrived at 2305 Queensview Road just before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, but it was already too late.
While autopsies are still being completed, Hoover police think Frizzell stabbed Ozburn to death and then shot himself.
Dutton reports Ozburn appeared to live at the home with an older woman. Police say Ozburn's mother owned the home, turned crime-scene. Dutton said he never saw anything suspicious at the house. "I've seen them come and go… I don't really know them," Dutton said. "They just seem like a normal family."
Ozburn's mother was able to escape the home and talk to police before they entered the house.
When officers entered the residence they discovered Ozburn, dead, lying in the floor near a bedroom. She appeared to have suffered from multiple stab wounds. Officers also found Frizzell deceased inside a bedroom.
Hilary Golston reports.
