A benefit concert will be held soon to help a paralyzed soldier in Jacksonville.
A news conference was held at Jacksonville State University Wednesday to announce a LT Dan Band concert, scheduled for May 19, 2013.
The concert is part of a community-wide effort to honor Marine SGT Ben Tomlinson, called "Operation Ben".
SGT Tomlinson was paralyzed in Afghanistan in 2010, after he was shot by enemy fire.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation and the Gary Sinise Foundation have partnered through their "Building for America's Bravest" program to build SGT Tomlinson a "smart home" in Jacksonville.
The proceeds from the concert will help in that effort.
