OXFORD, AL -
Today, the Oxford Police Department will host a "Firearm Safety Class."
It starts at 2 p.m. at the Oxford Civic Center upstairs meeting room.
The class size is limited to 80 people.
Organizers say additional classes will be held during the year.
Police Chief Bill Partridge said, "It is our hope to familiarize individuals in the safe operation of firearms and legal issues we face today. We believe strongly in our second amendment rights and want individuals to do so in a safe manner."
