The Auburn baseball team couldn't avoid a series sweep on Sunday, falling to No. 3 LSU 8-2 at Alex Box Stadium. The loss dropped Auburn to 15-9, 0-6 SEC while LSU is now 22-2, 5-1 SEC.
For the third straight game, LSU jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, scoring four times in the first. All nine LSU hitters stepped to the plate in the inning despite just one ball leaving the infield. Auburn starter Will Kendall (0-1) faced seven of the LSU hitters and was charged for all four runs, allowing three hits and walking two in 2/3 of an inning.
LSU would out-score Auburn, 9-0, in the first inning of the three games combined.
LSU starter Cody Glenn (4-1) picked up the win, logging 7 2/3 innings and allowing just two runs on six hits and two walks, striking out two.
