Year two of the Garrick McGee era is about to begin for the UAB Blazers. They will start their 2013 spring workouts on March 27th.
This is McGee's second year in Birmingham and his second year as a collegiate head coach. He says he has a better idea of what's expected.
"I understand more about the job," McGee said. "The job of a head coach, how to manage your time. So I really feel more comfortable in the role and I understand more about our program. I know a lot more today than I did on the day that I had that press conference here when I took the job."
With new additions to his coaching staff, McGee was asked if he was going to coach the quarterbacks this year. He says he has good support from graduate assistants so he will coach the quarterbacks.
McGee says if quarterback is the most important position in the program, then he should take responsibility for it.
The Blazers went 3-9 in last season, McGee's first as UAB's head coach.
