The quarterback is the lifeline of a college football team. When the team does poorly there's probably too much blame place on his shoulders and when a team is winning the quarterback is probably given too much credit. Regardless of that Heisman trophy winning quarterback and Coach Pat Sullivan knows how great it is to have a starting quarterback return "Well it's great when your quarterback comes back" Sullivan said earlier this week. The Bulldogs are getting ready for the season with returning starting quarterback Andy Summerlin who's coming off an ankle injury.
Before the injury last season Summerlin passed for 2,269 yards with 10 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. He did have surgery after the season and will be limited this spring. "He want have any contact work this spring, but he'll get all the other work" Sullivan said.
With Summerlin being limited it has opened the door for some other guys to get some extra work "He'll give some of our young guys an opportunity to play some" Sullivan said.
Summerlin should be ready for the season opener on August 29th at Georgia State.
