Candidates for next UA Provost begin interviews in April 2013

Interviews will happen during the month of April 2013 to pick the next University of Alabama Provost.

A UA spokesperson says President Bonner and a search committee will interview at least four candidates for the position, starting next week.

Dr. Joe Benson is serving as UA's interim Provost, and plans to retire, once a new provost is named.

Here is a list of the current candidates:

*   Dr. Dave Francko, associate provost and dean of the Graduate School, The University of Alabama – April 9, Heritage Room, Ferguson Center
*   Dr. Pam Whitten, dean and professor, College of Communication Arts & Sciences, Michigan State University – April 19, Room 309, Ferguson Center
*   Dr. Gordon Emslie, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, Western Kentucky University – April 23, Heritage Room, Ferguson Center
*   Dr. Kimberly Espy, vice president for Research & Innovation, dean of the Graduate School, The University of Oregon – April 30, Heritage Room, Ferguson Center

The on-campus interviews will be open to faculty, staff and students at 11:00am CT.
