AM News: Al. Gov. will sign controversial women's health and safety act Tuesday

On Tuesday at 10a.m. in the State Capitol building,  Alabama Governor Robert  Bentley will sign the women's health and safety act also known as  House Bill 57  into law.

The  recently approved act,  has attracted strong debate from both sides, is expected to improve and strengthen the standard of care at women's clinics.

Opponents believe this law is a next step in closing abortion clinics in Alabama.

Governor Bentley will be joined at Tuesday's signing by Lieutenant Governor Kay Ivey, House Speaker Mike Hubbard, Representative Mary Sue McClurkin, Senator Scott Beason and others.
