Two men are facing charges after allegedly attacking a couple in western Jefferson County.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, a 22-year-old male and his 18-year-old girlfriend were told by two men that they had hidden some money near a dirt road off of Flat Top Road. The victims were promised a share if they would drive the men to get it.
Once they drove down the dirt road, deputies say the suspects attacked the couple. The male victim was cut on the neck with a knife and tied him to a tree. His girlfriend was raped, before the suspects took the vehicle and kidnapped her.
The male victim was able to get free and flagged down a passerby for help near the main road.
The missing car was located at the Walmart in Brent, with the female victim found inside the store. Surveillance video showed suspect Scott Charles Blaisdell, 48, of Fairfield, leaving the store as law enforcement arrived. He was captured by Bibb County Sheriff's Deputies later that day as he tried to hitchhike out of town. Blaisdell was charged with rape, first-degree robbery, second-degree assault, and two counts of kidnapping. He's being held in lieu of $255,000 bond.
The second suspect, Codi Wayne Miller, 26, of Dora, remains at large. He has been charged with first-degree robbery and two counts of kidnapping, with bond set at $180,000.
Anyone with information about Miller's location is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office at 205-325-1450.
