WASHINGTON D.C. -

Over 220 immigrants from Alabama will hold a vigil today at Senator Jeff Session's office.

At the vigil, which will start at 9:30 this morning, participants will deliver mini-footballs to Senator Sessions inscribed with the message "Don't drop the ball – pass immigration reform now."

The event is sponsored by the Alabama Coalition for Immigrant Justice.

Over 220 immigrants and supporters from the state say they will benefit from a comprehensive immigration reform. They are traveling to D.C. this week to participate in a week of activities surrounding the national "Time is Now" rally on April 10.

ACIJ representatives will meet with all of the Alabama senators and representatives during the week.

The Alabama Coalition for Immigrant Justice is a network of individuals and organizations which seek to provide a united voice dedicated to ensuring the social, legal, and civil rights of all immigrants in Alabama. ACIJ's members work to promote justice for all Alabama's immigrants. For more information, visit www.acij.net.
