Some future auto mechanics showed off their talents Wednesday in an auto skills competition.
Twenty high school juniors and seniors from 10 schools in Alabama took part in the Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills competition, held at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham.
The students raced against the clock to correctly identify and repair intentionally installed "bugs" in identical Ford vehicles.
After finding the problem and repairing the vehicle, teammates must drive their Ford across the finish line, where their work was judged.
The final rankings were as follows:
10. RUSSELL CO. HIGH SCHOOL
The winning team will represent Alabama at the National Finals on June 11, 2013, at Ford World Headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan.
