The Birmingham Airport Authority released a series of records relating to the terminal modernization project at the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport.
In a statement, they said they have asked Brasfield & Gorrie/BLOC Global and KPS Group to release documents they hold that have been requested, as well.
"Much information about the project is contained in the regular updates provided to board members each month prior to the regularly scheduled meetings," they wrote. "That information is available to the public, however no member of the media or the public have previously made requests for these documents."
The board underscored their willingness to continue to be transparent but states that they have a responsibility to the community to abide by federal and state laws and regulations that may prevent disclosure of some information.
Interest in the documents arose after a multi-user flight information display system cabinet fell and killed 10-year-old Luke Bressette last month, and also injured three other members of his family.
