Auburn is going back to a more traditional A-Day game under new head coach Gus Malzahn. Former head coach Gene Chizik used a confusing reward based scoring system; For example if a player made a long run the offense would earn points or if a defender made an interception the defense would earn points.
Malzahn talked to the media yesterday about Saturday's A-Day "We are going to try to make this thing as close to a game as possible for our fans as well as our coaches and players. It will be great for us to evaluate guys in front of a crowd to see how they react and get our coaches on the sideline like a game".
Auburn took the day off from the practice field, but will practice tomorrow.
Auburn's A-Day will take place this Saturday at 1:00PM, followed by the final rolling of the Toomer Oaks. Alabama's 13 will have a team at the game and will have all the highlights during the 10PM Newscast.
