An elderly Hoover woman is charged with trying to hire a hitman to kill family members .
The Hoover Police Department reports Sue Chastain Hutchison, 82, is charged with 3 counts of Solicitation to Commit Murder and 3 counts of Conspiracy to Commit Murder.
Hutchison was taken into custody April 18, 2013 in the Lee Branch shopping center parking lot.
An individual first contacted police earlier in the week and provided information that
Hutchison was attempting to pay to have family members killed.
Hutchison appeared to be concerned about who might inherit her husband's estate upon his
HPD reports over the past several days, Hutchison planned 3 meetings with who she believed to be a middle-man.
She believed that the middle-man knew a 3rd party who was willing and capable of carrying out these crimes.
During 2 of those meetings, money was exchanged.
A deadline was also given for the completion of the acts.
During one of the meetings with the middle-man, Hutchison insisted that they not use the word "killed" but instead should refer to it as "eliminated".
Hutchison confessed to organizing the plot.
She believed the murders would be carried out on Wednesday night and
acknowledged watching the local news on Thursday morning to see if there was
a news story about the murders.
