The Auburn baseball team was shutout on six hits as it fell in the series finale at No. 10 Mississippi State, 6-0. The loss dropped Auburn's record to 24-16, 6-12 SEC while Mississippi State improved to 32-10, 10-8 SEC.
"(Mississippi State starting pitcher Jacob Lindgren) did an outstanding job. When you get deep into a count, his slider was pretty good," Auburn Head Coach John Pawlowski said. "We stuck out 14 times today. It's disappointing. We talk about the three facets of the game: pitching, offense and defense and I really didn't think we did our best. Early in the game we have to be able to get outs when we can. We have to get better in a lot of different areas."
Lindgren went a career-long eight innings, scattering five hits and two walks while striking out 11. Reliever Jonathan Holder than recorded the last three outs, all via strike out to send Auburn to the series loss.
