over Tennessee Tech as the Gamecocks won their ninth straight Ohio Valley
Conference game on Saturday.
Jax State improves to 22-16 overall and is now tied for first place with a 14-3 mark in conference play after extending the season's longest winning streak to seven games. Tech drops to 27-12 and 15-5 in the conference as the Gamecocks have now claimed 11 of the last 13 meetings between the two teams.
Taylor Shields (6-2) had three strikeouts and scattered 10 hits to earn his sixth win of the season for JSU, while Travis Stout recorded the final three outs to pick up his 12th save. Ross Spurgeon (2-2) gave up four runs and lasted just two innings to suffer the loss for the Golden Eagles.
