The Birmingham Airport Authority met and talked behind closed doors for more than an hour, in an executive session, regarding what it said were "matters likely to be litigated."
When the executive session was over board members adjourned the meeting. About two hours after the meeting, the board revealed what all of the talk was about. It centers around a lawsuit filed by Alabama Media Group when it came to releasing documents about a 300 to 400 flight display sign that fell on a family. A 10-year-old boy died.
In the release, the authority stated it stands behind its handling of releasing the documents. The Birmingham Airport Authority also stated in the release it looks forward to its day in court. There is a hearing Wednesday.
