Wendy Garner is the host of Daytime Alabama. She has been on the air in Central Alabama for almost two decades. She spent ten years at Alabama's 13 as a news anchor and reporter, including anchoring the morning, midday and weekend newscasts. Wendy also hosted the morning show on 93.7 WDJC. And she hosted the statewide program, Profiles with Wendy Garner for Alabama Public Television. Before coming to Birmingham she anchored and reported the news for stations in Montgomery and Tuscaloosa.
Wendy has been involved in many charitable organizations in the community. She was recognized as one of the "Top Ten Birminghamians" by the Birmingham Jaycees. She served on the Advisory Council for Auburn University's College of Liberal Arts and on the advisory board of the Greater Birmingham Auburn Club. She's currently serving on the board for the Bell Center for Early Intervention.
Wendy is native of Delray Beach, Florida and a graduate of Auburn University. While at Auburn she danced on the university's dance team "Tiger Paws". Her husband, Tim, played football under Coach Pat Dye.
Wendy is an active member of Meadow Brook Baptist Church. She and her husband have two sons, Cole and Reece and they love to call Birmingham home.
