AM News: Investigators continue to probe shooting of popular landscaper

BIRMINGHAM, AL -

Birmingham police continue to investigate an apparent robbery attempt  which  turned  into a murder investigation that left a landscaper  is dead.

The Jefferson County Coroner's office has confirmed that  76-year-old  Birl Jackson was shot and killed Monday morning.

Just before Jackson's death, Birmingham police say he was cutting the grass at the King Manor Apartments in the 200 block of 3rd Avenue southwest in the Titusville area.
