GARDENDALE, AL -

Police officers in Gardendale are looking for a jewelry theft suspect.

The Gardendale Police Department reports that Gardendale Jewelers was robbed around 11:50 a.m. Tuesday.

A man walked into the business and wanted to see some gold necklaces.

The worker laid two gold necklaces on a display case, when the suspect grabbed the necklaces and told the victim, "See ya, bubba!"

The suspect ran out of the front door and drove away in a gold-colored Toyota Camry with no tag.

The suspect was about  5'09" and 140 pounds. He appeared to be in his mid 20's with brown hair and a thin beard,  wearing red knee length sweat pant shorts and a white T-shirt with the sleeves cut out. He also wore what appears to be an Alabama flat bill ball cap and dark colored tennis shoes with white socks. He also wore glasses and had a tattoo on his left shoulder.

The store worker stated the suspect had a hard time getting the getaway vehicle started.

The suspect left the scene heading north on Main Street.
