A 6-year-old boy died from his injuries last night after being hit by a car while riding his bicycle in Cullman.
The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. in the Carroll Acres subdivision.
"The boy just didn't see the car, and the driver didn't have time to react," Cullman assistant police chief Craig Green said. "We believe the driver of the car was operating her vehicle in the safest manner possible."
After the accident, the child was taken to Cullman Regional Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
The child was identified as Jeremiah Lee Harville, and was a first-grade student at Cullman City Primary School.
"Our prayers are with both families," Green said. "I am certain the character of our community will show strong in the support we will give to both families."
