Some children dream of becoming pilots; others dream of living just one more day. The Dream on Wings program combines those dreams to help sick children in need of a lift of spirits.
The 117th refueling wing hosted the annual Dream on Wings program this morning.
It was created to give children who are facing serious illnesses a day to put aside their worries and allow them to have a day filled with flying and fun.
Each child and their family were treated to a flight around Birmingham.
The sick kids say they're thankful for the volunteers there.
"They're really generous, extremely, even on a kinda cloudy day like this," Zachary Adam-Sorenson said.
The children also got to enjoy games, refreshments, and music.
