A new company is being launched in Birmingham to deal with cyberattacks.
The University of Alabama at Birmingham will partner with Malcovery to create the intelligence company.
The public-private partnership will call on the director of UAB's computer forensic office, Gary Warner, to serve as the company's chief technologist.
Warner will not leave his University post.
"Warner says the company provides real-time intelligence to identify cyberattacks as they occur worldwide. Malcovery is an outgrowth of Warner's work identify computer security threats.
Malcovery is based jointly in Birmingham and in Pittsburgh, Pa."
