For many the deadly tornadoes of 2011 will never be forgotten. From lives lost to structures demolished beyond recognition, many lessons were learned in the storms' aftermath. On Tuesday, Alabama Governor Robert Bentley will give remarks at the 2013 Response and Recovery Workshop.
The Alabama Emergency Management Agency organized the three day conference aimed at sharing best practices in preparing for severe storms.
The conference is being held in Prattville Alabama.

Governor Bentley to Participate in Response & Recovery Workshop
PRATTVILLE - Governor Robert Bentley on Tuesday will participate in the opening session of the 2013 Response and Recovery Workshop organized by the Alabama Emergency Management Agency.
The three-day conference is designed to help local elected leaders and emergency managers plan ahead for future emergencies. Communities from throughout Alabama will be represented at the conference. As the state's top incident commander, Governor Bentley believes it is very important to communicate with local officials and first responders ahead of a disaster in order to have proper planning in place.
Governor Bentley will address participants at 9:30 a.m. at the start of Tuesday's sessions.
