Shotgun-packing granny unloads a round at knife-holding man in Gadsden

Posted: Updated:

An argument in Gadsden apparently leads to a shooting, with a granny behind the trigger.

The Gadsden Police Department reports the incident happened May 13, 2013, about 10:00pm CT in the 3200 block of Stonewall Avenue.

A man in his 30's was in an argument with three other men, and that man had a knife, and tried to cut one of the other men.

One of the three men had a handgun, and fired two shots at the knife-carrying man, but missed.

One of the three men's grandmother was armed with a shotgun, fired one round, and shot the knife-carrying man in the chest.

The victim was taken to the hospital with apparent non-life threatening injuries.

There's no word on any charges against the 78-year-old granny.
