Local pro athletes have teamed up and opened a gym to train athletes in Hoover.
Lance Rhodes and Blake Prime wanted to open a gym to transform lives, so they opened RPM Hoover.
Now they have some pretty famous partners, Former UAB Football player, Joe Webb, who is now with the Vikings, Atlanta Falcons star, Roddy White, Dodgers Pitcher, Matt Guerrier, and retired MLB Infielder Wes Helms.
The gym is known for training athletes offering several football and baseball camps. But they also help everyday people get in shape by offering Crossfit RPM.
CrossFit is the "sport of fitness," which means they are the jack-of-all-trades of athletes. CrossFit combines aerobic conditioning, Olympic weightlifting, gymnastics along with some other old-school training elements like kettlebells, rope climbs, tire flipping and sledgehammer into daily WODs (workouts of the day).
When Kyle Burger and Donnette' Hulsey showed up for the class, it was intense. You started with a warm up outside. Then you moved to a few stretches inside, then the work started.
