A Birmingham school honored the life of a student who recently died in a car wreck.

Fourteen-year-old Tytiwaan Ard was a student a Huffman High School.  He and his father were headed to church Sunday morning when their vehicle overturned. The teen and his father were ejected.  Ard was pronounced dead on the scene.

Ard would have been 15 years old Wednesday.  The students called the memorial service a Remembrance Birthday Celebration.

Huffman High School Principal John Lyons said, "We met with Tytiwaan's parents [Wednesday] and they said they needed this. They needed this for healing. My school needed this for healing."

In honor of his birthday, students sang happy birthday and released balloons.

Funeral services for Ard will be held Saturday at 11 a-m at Faith Chapel Christian Center.
