Two Hoover men are behind bars after a 17-year-old was found shot in the head at a Hoover apartment complex last night.

According to the Hoover Police Department, police were called to the 3423 building at Chapel park Apartments on Patton Chapel Road. Callers reported gunshots and a male lying in the breezeway.

Officers found the 17-year-old male suffering a single gunshot to the head.

One suspect was taken into custody near the crime scene at Chapel Park Apartments, another was located at his residence on Crown Woods Drive and a third was arrested at his residence on Crowne Chase Parkway.

Byron Jerome McNeal, 17, and Deonte Dontrel Knatt, 19, were charged with first-degree robbery and is being held in lieu of $60,000 bond. McNeal was charged as an adult in the incident.

A 15-year-old Hoover male was also charged with first-degree robbery and attempted murder.

The Hoover PD says it appears the three men drove to the victim's apartment to rob him, when a scuffle occurred and one of the suspects shot him.

The victim remains in critical condition at UAB Hospital.
