South Carolina baseball has three straight College Baseball World Series appearances, two National Championships, and one super fan, 81-year-old Bill Golding.
"But everyone knows me as "Ooh ooh go Cocks!" Golding said.
Golding travels with the Gamecocks to every baseball and football game, home and away. You know he's in the building when you hear his signature Gmecocks cheer.
"Years ago, we were playing at clemson. They get kind of ugly," Golding said. "I'm in the 50s at that time. They were cussing, and I say, ooh ooh go Cocks! Spell it sucker. The guy looks at me and walks away."
That one-of-a-kind sound has been with South Carolina athletics for over thirty years.
"We have over 50,000 miles on the road in the RV," Golding said. "I got a great lady, we've seen a high of 75 ball games in one year and never missed a pitch."
Golding's game day attire is just as much his signature as his sound.
"The helmet has been around for years, different ones," Golding said. "We've won 57 in this helmet."
He love his Gamecocks, through thick and thin. The one thing that upsets him, is a fair weathered fan.
"Our fans right now are the best in the country. But still, if they lose, they kind of fall back," Golding said. "That's not me. I told the team every year, I'm going to SEC whether you go or not."
With the help of Golding, the Gamecocks are an ear shot from their third national title in four years.
